The BD BBL Prompt Inoculation System is recommended for preparing standardized suspensions of bacteria for the Bauer-Kirby disc diffusion antimicrobial susceptibility test procedure. It may be used for Enterobacteriaceae, Staphylococcus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, and other fast-growing bacteria. This system does not require incubation, turbidity adjustments, and dilutions. Bacterial suspension can be prepared in under a minute and held for up to 6 hours at room temperature before use. One kit contains 60 saline tubes and 60 precision wands.
